Hi Sam, Another great video. I noticed you were talking about making it a 29. Is there enough room? I know the levo S4 and larger can be made into a 29. This changes the Geo a little bit, but you could even it out by putting a taller fork on and just gaining some BB clearance. And really the places you need a 29 are the very rocky trails which it’s not a bad thing to have the extra clearance.

Sam, when you I hear you say the Turbo Levo and the Strive On are the best bikes on the market, I think you need to come over to Portugal and test ride my new Crestline RS 180... It's a class apart. 😂 (PS: you know I had a Turbo Levo right?! ) 🤭

I bought it because of your video the only complaints I have with it is that the back part of the bike has no rubber between the linkage to protect the frame and the second one are the brake discs that make noise

funny, i bought a 2024 Trance (all new geo, slack-ish ht angle, more travel like XC/lite all mountain now) and it came with DHR II DD in the back, and minion exo+ up front. Giant got their enduro and entry trail bikes mixed up, lol.

Thank you so much for reviewing the Rocky Mountain power play 4.0! I just bought a RM pp Fusion 30 on closeout. I know a hard tail, but I'm a newbie and I'm not doing any technical stuff. Everything is about the Ramblas on this side of the pond. Nothing out there about the Fusion and little about the RM pp 4.0. I'm watching your series that includes RM pp 4.0 too and it is vey informative also. Cheers Rich

I think what you have done is a massive effort Sam. Great job. It would be very difficult to generalise each motor and battery without looking at the bike as well i.e amount of travel etc as it would definitely affect the bike range as a whole! I still think that buying an ebike is like buying a car and one has set their mind based on the motor and bike geo etc. This test does give an estimate of the bike's real world range and I think this will be an added info for the potential buyers. If one wants to have a BIG day out and doesn't want to get caught just bring an extra battery or range extenders . Keep it up

Trek/ Bosch is outstanding with speed of replacement and honoring warranty even if a little past warranty date.

I'm also exactly 183cm but I'm used to and really like 475-480 reach. I normally ride all Large MTB. I feel like a 460 reach on the medium would feel way too cramped but like the idea of it being more playful. Anyone think I it would be ok to just put a 60mm stem on this to make it a 475mm reach and be good to go? Or, put like a 35mm stem on the size large, to give a 475mm reach, down from the 485mm?

In the uk,if your motor is out of warranty,you could send it to independent repairers to het fixed,which is much cheaper than buying a new motor a completely rebuilt motor costs around £300

I currently have a bike with Shimano motor, I have anxiety about what happens if it shits itself out of warranty. I will definitely be looking at buying Giant/Yamaha next time after reading their response. Or hopefully a Pinion, they look extremely serviceable.

I guess if you need an e-bike for the type of riding you do, it's 1 thing. I think if you are buying an e-bike for fun and have the money for out of warranty replacement it's another thing. If you are buying an e-bike and are always strapped for cash, you probably need to stay away. It's kind of like a car. Maybe you can buy it but can you pay for everything that comes along with it.

In my opinion the motor and the system as a hole should be reparebale by the local shop/dealer mechanik. The owner should be able to change the bearings of the electronics (in a shop by a mechanik) of the motor and the other component of the system and so on.

My spidey senses tells specialized will offer extended warrenty 😉

Would be interesting to hear about yamaha motors. My current Haibike has the pwx3 motor. Previous haibike had the bosch cx motor. I know giant uses yamaha motors, but they are a company of their own. Only had to have one warranty claim for the cx motor and that was on my cube ebike. During the pandemic aswell. The shop sent the motor off and bosch sent a new one. 2weeks later bike was sorted.
